It just so happened that the majority of them were by Hot Wheels and Matchbox toy cars. Lately, a new comer called Greenlight is making a real show of things! Check below.
Then those awkward teenage years come along, and you arrive at the conclusion that playing with toys and toy cars is not socially acceptable, especially to members of the opposite sex.
And so you soldier on through high-school, and then into post-secondary (in my case it was university), only to come out the other side a "mature" person ready to go to work, for the next 40 years, or so.
Then, one day, as if by fate, you're in a toy store (the R Us one) looking for a baby shower gift and you somehow find yourself walking by the section with all of the little toy cars. You're hooked, almost instantly. You simply cannot resist buying one on the spot.
It dawns on you at that moment that toy cars are cool and screw what everyone else has to say.

Anyway, don't be afraid to be a kid. Toy cars are for everyone and a lot less expensive than owning copies of the real things.
